Oral History
The stories and memories of ordinary people are valuable source of local history. The “I remember when……” Project uses the latest in digital recording techniques to give the tradition of storytelling a 21st century twist. Interviews are recorded and transcribed for storage in our local museum and library, as well as state and national archives.
As an added extra families can request mini DVD’s to be created which include edited audio recordings, digital images such as photos and scanned memorabilia, and background music.
We welcome volunteers and will train them in their areas of interest including researching stories, the art of interviewing, using recording equipment, transcribing, editing and creating DVD’s.
